Beth Emmers, from East Selkirk, brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role as Committee Co-Head of the Selkirk & District Arts Festival. With an extensive background in music education and performance, Beth has dedicated her life to nurturing artistic talent and celebrating the power of the arts.

Her musical journey is distinguished by remarkable achievements:

  • Education: Beth holds RCM Level 10 certification, is a 2023 Provincial Gold Medal Recipient, and studied Jazz Studies at Humber College. Her experiences include the prestigious Cremona Academy International Music Festival in Italy, where she learned from world-renowned instructors and performed for Italian audiences.

  • Work Experience: As a collaborative pianist, educator, and accompanist, Beth has worked with acclaimed choirs, modern dance classes, and musical theater productions. Her career spans decades of inspiring young artists through teaching, directing summer camps, and live performances.

Beth's commitment to the festival stems from her belief in empowering young artists. "I believe that young students of the arts have a strong skillset, and I wanted to help them develop those skills, improve their confidence, and grow as performers," she says.

The Selkirk & District Arts Festival, under Beth’s guidance, is a platform for artists to thrive and showcase their talents in a supportive and inclusive environment. She looks forward to seeing the creativity and dedication of participants bring the festival to life.
