Melanie Shumilak, from East Selkirk, plays a vital role as the Visual Arts Coordinator for the Selkirk & District Arts Festival. With a background in acrylic and watercolor painting as well as piano, Melanie’s artistic expertise and passion for creativity enrich the festival's vision.

Dedicated to showcasing the beauty and diversity of visual arts, Melanie joined the board to help highlight the incredible talent within the community. "I wanted to support the board in bringing all art forms to Selkirk and District while creating a space for visual arts to shine," she says.

Through her work with the festival, Melanie aims to inspire artists of all ages to participate and celebrate their creativity. She looks forward to seeing the community come together to appreciate the artistry and dedication of local talent.
